ORYXE Energy International was founded in 2001 by Fred and Chris Jordan, after 25 years of research and development efforts in the field of combustion science.
Since incorporation, ORYXE Energy has assembled a dynamic team of executives with extensive experience in the energy industry, and scientists with more than 100 years of combined experience in the research and development of fuel additives. With a focus on cleaner-burning fuels, the team has developed and tested a unique line of additive technologies that significantly reduce toxic emissions from renewable and fossil fuels. The company was issued its first patent in October of 2003.
In October of 2004, ORYXE Energy’s first product, ORYXE® LED, was approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to produce diesel fuel in compliance with the new Texas Low Emission Diesel (TxLED) rule. ORYXE Energy also was named to Red Herring Magazine’s prestigious list of Top 100 Innovators of 2004.
During the summer of 2005, ORYXE Energy constructed an ORYXE LED blending facility in Pasadena, Texas with Afton Chemical Corporation, a leading manufacturer of petroleum additives. The facility can produce enough additive to supply the TxLED market and service other domestic and international markets as well. In July of 2005, Sun Coast Resources, an ORYXE Energy distribution partner, began using the ORYXE LED additive to supply TxLED compliant fuel to the City of Dallas over three months prior to the Nov. 1 TxLED deadline.
In 2006, the Texas Public Relations Association (TPRA) recognized ORYXE Energy with its top award in the video news release category for the company’s production about the new TxLED program. In October of 2006, the City of Austin and Travis County were the first to begin using ORYXE LED in Central Texas.
In February of 2007, ORYXE Energy became the first company to certify a biodiesel additive in the state of Texas. ORYXE® LED for Biodiesel was approved by the TCEQ to produce TxLED-compliant biodiesel blends up to B20.
Today, ORYXE Energy products are available worldwide. ORYXE Energy scientists continue to research and develop cost-effective, quality solutions for producing cleaner and more efficient fuels.
