Executives from Meguiar’s and W. R. Grace & Co. Join ORYXE Energy International

Additive Technology Company Names Chief Financial Officer Jerome S. Kaiser and Vice President of Sales David A. Sams, Ph.D.


Irvine, Calif. – May 2, 2006 – ORYXE Energy International announced today that Jerome S. Kaiser and David A. Sams, Ph.D. have joined the company.

ORYXE Energy develops and markets proprietary fuel additives based on breakthrough research in combustion science. The company is currently selling its diesel fuel additive, ORYXE LED, to fuel producers in the Texas Low Emission Diesel market, and has additional products in its development pipeline that improve fuel performance and reduce emissions cost-effectively.

Kaiser, appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer of ORYXE Energy, has been a financial leader in the manufacturing, distribution and retail industries. Sams, the company’s vice president of sales, has over 20 years of technical and sales experience in the refining industry.

“Jerome and Dave bring a wealth of experience and a unique combination of technical knowledge and business acumen to the ORYXE Energy team,” said ORYXE Energy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer James M. Cleary. “They will each play an important role in the strategic growth of our company.”

Kaiser’s areas of financial expertise include process improvement, cost containment and internal controls.

Most recently, Kaiser served as vice president, group finance director of Liz Claiborne, Inc. Prior to that, he was vice president and chief financial officer of Meguiar’s, Inc. Kaiser has eight years of experience in the petroleum industry as a controller and director of audit for Ultramar, Inc., a subsidiary of Valero Energy. He earned a B.S. in accounting from Pepperdine University, an M.S. in business taxation from California State University, Northridge, and is a certified public accountant.

At ORYXE Energy, Sams will be responsible for leading the company’s sales efforts with an initial focus on the California fuels market.

Prior to joining the company, Sams worked at W.R. Grace & Co. for 14 years, beginning as a senior technical service representative and eventually becoming director of sales for the company’s refining technologies business group. During his tenure at W.R. Grace & Co., Sams developed techniques and provided technical support to evaluate the performance of fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalysts. Sams began his career as a research and process engineer for Shell Oil Co.

Sams earned his B.S. from the University of Minnesota and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Arizona, all in chemical engineering.
